The hard-core camper would scoff at this lantern. It takes a couple batteries so it is just sort of a flashlight in the shape of a lantern. But man is it convenient. You just turn a dial and you go from pitch black to pitch light.

It's the perfect thing if you gotta fumble around in the darkness for awhile. Flashlights can be so elusive in the dark, but this thing is easy to blindly stumble across. It's great for camping too. I've lost at scrabble quite a few times under the tell-tale light of this lantern.
