Nine Days Left: Sell Sell Sell

Sell Sell Sell
It is nine days before we leave. This week the theme is: sell, sell, sell.

I must say though, while selling takes time and energy, we can't complain. Things just keep working well for us. We sold our car to friends quickly and easily. Big weight lifted. Then throughout the week people just kept coming over and taking things. Every day a new vehicle backs into the driveway, every day less stuff remains in our house.

What's Missing
Tonight we looked around and realized we have absolutely no place to sit. No couches, no desk chairs, no dinner table chairs. No chairs. Just the floor for us, and nine days to go. Things are getting exciting.

The couch is gone, but you just make do. Nothing like relaxing at home with a good ol' episode of Jeopardy.

And if you want to listen to music, just ignore that your stereo now sits atop a bunch of stacked boxes.

And if you want to check your email,  your desktop computer has been replaced by a laptop or two. And your office desk is now a collapsible card table. And it is not possible to sit on a chair, since no such thing exists anymore.

Without a Microwave
We also sold our microwave. People spent centuries without a microwave, but now I realized how much I used it. A modern man's relationship with a microwave starts quite early in life. Usually around bachelorhood. It is then that a young man realizes that a microwave partially replaces the role his mother had in preparing food. All that is needed is a slight adjustment in the food selection: less salads and fresh vegetables and more frozen burritos and chimichangas. The microwave then becomes a bachelors best friend.

Nine days and we are driving south. Way south....way way south.
